Jaguars in the Pantanal: Tropical Nature's Chairman of the Board
has spent the month of June in the Pantanal region of Brazil investigating
the life histories of Jaguars, the top predators in South America. Through
this work, Dr. Munn is starting the process though which Tropical Nature will
turn its attention to saving one of the last great wilderness areas in
Brazil. First we define the natural attractions, then we use those natural
attractions to pay for the conservation of large areas by doing what we do
better than anyone: bringing appropriate ecotourism to the region and using
the income to pay for conservation. Please contact Tropical Nature if you are interested in helping
conserve Brazil's Pantanal. |

Tropical Nature Board
Chairman featured on grist.com: Tropical Nature's Chairman of the Board is featured in an article on
grist.com. In the article, Dr. Munn is characterized as a pioneer of
ecotourism, and gives his views on ecotourism and Tropical Nature's role. "We think that most
so-called ecotourism has little to do with anything truly eco, and that most
tourism in tropical rainforests is a boring, hot, sometimes buggy
disappointment. But it does not have to be that way -- and that is why we
created Tropical Nature. We specialize in offering the finest wildlife
viewing in rainforests." Read more here. |

All ventures now profitable: January means that the annual summaries
from all of the Tropical Nature lodges are reported. 2005 was a great year
for the business aspects of Tropical Nature with all of the businesses now
making operating profits! This gives us all a great boost, as the operating
profit is what drives the conservation and makes it all possible.
Congratualtions to everyone! |
